Thomas Smith Group, in line with its CSR programme to promote healthy living habits, will be supporting another sporting event - The Grid, the first obstacle course race to be held on the Maltese Islands.

The event will be held on Saturday 28 May, and will involve a gruelling 15-kilometre course including obstacles such as hurdles, mud pits, monkey bars And much more.

The event is set to attract the participation of 500 entries, with over 300 registrations confirmed. The Grid has in fact already enticed 160 international participants from UK, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, Spain, Bulgaria, France, as well as USA, Brazil and Venezuela. Some are taking on the challenge on a personal level whereas others are participating as a team building activity. The Grid organisers stress that this is a challenge for individuals and teams with the sole purpose of accomplishing a goal and having fun whether in team building or personal satisfaction.

"Thomas Smith Group is proud of its role in helping to encourage the public to undertake physical activity," comments Thomas Smith Managing Director Joe Gerada. "The event is great fun and will gather both local and international enthusiasts and athletes, some of whom travel abroad for such events. We hope that the event will be such a success that it becomes an annual one, and develops into a high-profile sport event, drawing an international spotlight onto Malta."
