The New Choral Singers, under the direction of the internationally acclaimed Wayne Marshall, and in association with the Hilltop Gardens, are proud to present their annual summer concert, which is to be held on Saturday, 16 July at 8.30pm.

The open air concert is being held at The Crescent pool area, Hilltop Gardens in Naxxar.

This year's concert is a celebration of musical sound tracks from screen and stage. Aptly entitled 'Lights! Camera! Singers!' the concert is a carousel of musical delights from La Scala to Broadway. The varied programme for this concert includes music of different genres and different eras to appeal to music lovers of all ages.

The Choir will be performing popular arias from well-known operas such as the famous 'Toreador Song' from 'Carmen' by Georges Bizet, and much loved music from movies such as 'Moon river' from 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'.

For this concert, the Choir will be performing under the direction of world renowned conductor Wayne Marshall. Mr Marshall is a virtuoso organist and solo pianist and is a celebrated interpreter of Gershwin, Bernstein, Ellington and other 20th century American composers. Apart from directing the choir Wayne Marshall will on the evening also be playing an improvisation on themes from 'West side story' by Leonard Bernstein. The concert will also feature soloist Albert Buttigieg, who is one of the best Bass performers on the island and who will be the Choir's guest for this concert. The singers will be accompanied on the piano by resident conductor Shirley Helleur and Irina Fedcenko.

The concert is being staged in collaboration with the Hilltop Gardens in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund. For this reason, whilst entrance to the concert is free of charge, a collection will be held in aid of the cause. Entrance to the concert is strictly upon presentation of an invitation which can be collected free of charge from the Frank Salt Real Estate offices at Balzan Valley, Balzan; Paceville Avenue, St Julian's; and George Borg Olivier Street, St Julian's, Hilltop Gardens in Naxxar, and the Malta Community Chest Fund Office, The Palace, Valletta.

The event is also being supported by Frank Salt Real Estate and Floreal florists. Doors for this event open at 7.45pm. Bar facilities are being made available both before and after the concert at Hilltop Gardens Lounge. Also, underground parking is complementary on a first come first served basis courtesy of Hilltop Gardens. www.hilltopgardens.com.mt
