Danish teenager Omar Lund has said he has woken up to a nightmare after he learnt that one of his best friends Tara Licari died in a traffic accident in which he was also injured.

Licari, 17, died at Kappara on Tuesday morning after the car her brother was driving crashed into a wall.

Writing on Facebook this morning and uploading a picture of Tara, Omar wrote:

I just woke up in the hospital and to my surprise this was not a nightmare. Despite only knowing Tara for 1 year I can without a doubt call her one of my best friends, as she always managed to make me laugh and smile with that bright contagious smile or her seemingly perfect timed puns that always seemed to make everyone smile even if they tried not to. Trustworthy and understanding are just 2 of the many many words that can be used to describe who she was as a person, there was never a point in our friendship where I wasn't able to trust you or know that you would be there for me when I needed you the most. You were always able to understand what I was going through. And without a doubt you are the greatest person I will ever have met, and one thing is for sure I will never ever forget you.
