FAA’s ‘Cinema Under the Stars at Villa Bologna’

Monday, 19 September 2016, 14:15 Last update: about 11 years ago

On Saturday 24 September Flimkien ghal Ambjent Ahjar (FAA) will be holding 'Cinema Under the Stars', at the beautiful Villa Bologna Garden, showing the 1972 British comedy thriller film Pulp, set and shot in Malta.

The performance by young Michael Caine - playing the main character - is an unforgettable experience carried off with caustic wit, panache and style. Pulp is praised by critics as an 'unregarded gem', a 'comedy treat' that has 'much comedic value' and is full of 'well derived one liners'. However, what makes this movie a stunning cinematic classic, is the unique location on the Maltese Isles, bathed in russet colours and off beat charm.

The setting of the 'Cinema Under the Stars' night is similarly stunning: Villa Bologna is an 18th century Maltese country palace surrounded by lush gardens, in the pretty village of Attard.

Before the screening: Jean Paul Borg will be giving a few minutes of introduction on cinematic background, while members of the original cast and crew will share their memories of their time on the Pulp film set.

Doors open at 7pm, tickets at €6 can be booked at : https://ticketengine.faa.org.mt/ or €8 at the door.  Enquiries 20106428 10am - 5pm
