New road safety video tells story of man killed by distracted driver on his retirement day

Transport Malta and the Malta Road Safety Council aired the latest PSA from the series ‘Eyes on the Road’ yesterday evening.  The third instalment tells the fictional story of Richard.  It is his last day at work before he retires.  On his way back, a distracted driver runs a red light and runs him over.  Richard’s family is waiting back home to celebrate his retirement.

Transport Malta and the Malta Road Safety Council aim to help raise awareness on the dangers of distracted driving.  The campaign messages are aired on TV, social media and radio stations.  

 The campaign Respect on the Road was launched in September, focused on a number of themes will expand on other issues in the coming weeks. The aim is to raise the level of our driving and make roads safer.

Transport Malta and the Malta Road Safety Council remind drivers of the consequences of distracted driving and ask them to keep their eyes on the road.
