A voluminous display of antiques from over 200 sources make up the December auction content of 1,350 lots on view this weekend and selling through next week at Belgravia Auction Gallery in St Julians. For the past few years the Belgravia auction format has changed to a 'type grouped' sale order where Monday sees some 200 lots of china and porcelain, Tuesday for glass, silver plate and religious art, Wednesday near 200 lots of furniture of all sorts including some modern, retro and Victoriana. Friday 9th is paintings and cartography with a strong section of contemporary works and some fine old masters. Saturday afternoon is the day for silver, majolica, fine furniture and paintings. Mention must be made of the Antoina Favray, the Amadeo Preziosi, works by Anton Schranz, Robert Caruana Dingli & Iosef Gatt. Throughout the auction a strong  Asian art element is seen in the celadon china, animal and figure wood carvings, silver trinkets, and an outstanding collection of worked ivory from China, Japan and Thailand.
