After publishing the Maltese/English book series entitled Maltese for foreigners, Charles Daniel Saliba recently completed two new books, Speaking Maltese 3 and Speaking Medical Maltese 2, to supplement this series.
Speaking Maltese 3 covers intermediate level. Featuring 14 realistic dialogues with parallel translations this book will help learners learn Maltese and improve their reading, speaking and listening skills without having constantly to refer to a dictionary. Speaking Medical Maltese 2 contains 12 realistic dialogues with parallel translations to help learners practise spoken medical Maltese. Each dialogue is accompanied by sets of important phrases and medical expressions along with their translations. This book is ideal for medical and healthcare professionals and students who want to learn Maltese to communicate with patients and colleagues. Saliba has also updated the accompanying CD, with the audio files linked to the books' content, so learners can listen to native Maltese speakers reading the text and performing the dialogues. Next year, Saliba plans to publish Maltese Grammar Essentials in Context 3 to further expand upon these intermediate-level lessons.
