Post-Summit snacks: Muscat treats Belgian, Luxembourg and Slovenia PMs to pastizzi at Serkin

Saturday, 4 February 2017, 15:09 Last update: about 9 years ago

PM Joseph Muscat this afternoon treated his Belgian, Luxembourgish and Slovenian counterparts to some traditional pastizzi and tea at the famous Crystal Palace in Rabat.

Dr Muscat, Luxembourg PM Xavier Better, Belgian PM Charles Michel and Slovenian PM Miro Cerar were accompanied by their partners.

Traditional was the theme of the EU leaders’ visit, at least from a culinary perspective as yesterday’s lunch – held between the morning and afternoon session of the migration summit – consisted of soppa tal-armla, beef bragioli or lampuki, and sfineg ta’ San Guzepp for dessert.  All washed down with local wines, of course.

The EU leaders were also treated to a Valletta walkabout, which included a stop at St John’s Co-Cathedral, and a boat trip to Fort St Angelo in Vittoriosa, where lunch was served.
