Few shows are as evocative of childhood as Sesame Street - one of the most popular TV franchises ever. In fact, 48 years since it first graced screens in 1969, the brand is still going strong - and now its bringing its larger-than-life live show to Malta.
Sesame Street Live: Make a New Friend will be performed at the Mediterranean Conference Centre on 18 November. It will feature all of the show's favourite characters, including Elmo, Grover and Abby Cadabby, as well as Chamki, Grover's friend from India. Together, they explore the universal fun of friendship and celebrate cultural similarities, from singing and dancing, to sharing cookies!
Brought to Malta by Big Ticket Events, the show promises to deliver Broadway-quality entertainment. "We are thrilled to have teamed up with the VEE Corporation - the exclusive live stage producer of Sesame Street Live in North America & Europe," says Big Ticket director Wesley Ellul, whose company will be bringing international singing sensation Boyce Avenue to the island just one week before.
This 95-minute family-friendly extravaganza promises to be a treat for the whole family, with rewritten versions of popular songs and plenty of toe-tapping opportunities for the whole family to join in with together.
"This show is designed for all ages to enjoy, with high-tech stagecraft, cleverly-written scripts, high-energy dancing and music that children will love and grown-ups will recognise from their childhood. It's a winning combination and we know that audiences will love it!" Mr Ellul adds.
