Set in the peaceful setting of Mount St Joseph, Mosta, the first Faraday Course Malta took place between 5 and 8 April. The course was jointly organised by the Faraday Institute for Science and Religion [Cambridge, UK] and the University of Malta and it was open to participants who had an interest in these disciplines.

The themes discussed during the course were Science and Religion: Clash of Worldviews [Prof. Louis Caruana SJ], Religion, Religious Practices in Neolithic Malta [Prof. Frank Ventura], Cosmology and Faith [Rev. Dr Rodney Holder], Faith and Reason: The Case of the Bible and Archaeology [Prof. Anthony Frendo], The Genome of Man: Shaped by the Past and Editing for the Future [Prof. Patrick Schembri], The Mythical Conflict: Have science and religion got on better than people think? [Dr James Hannam], Science and Miracles [Rev. Dr Mark Harris], I God [Prof. Alexei Dingli], The Church "breathing with two lungs" on Homo Technologicus [Dr Nadia Delicata].

The lectures and discussions helped participants grapple with these and other questions related to the dialogue between Science and Religion. During the course, there was plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion. Once the course was over, participants left with a new network of friends and contacts in the Science and Religion field.

This is the first of a series of events that the Faraday Course Malta Organising Committee has planned.
