The cast and crew of the popular daily soap on TVM 1 have decided to organise a colourful feast. Rewind Productions together with its workforce, cast and crew are presently delivering the fourth consecutive season of this daily soap... the first of its kind in Maltese Production and Broadcasting. All will be meeting this time as friends to participate in this literal feast of colour mimicking their daily mission to do their utmost to lighten up in many ways, the daily lives of their televiewers by way of creating moments of entertainment coupled with curiosity.
Ħbieb u Għedewwa is currently in its fourth season and on the 17th of May, the seven hundredth episode of this soap will be transmitted! What started as an experiment and what was perceived as an ambitious dream, today for various and varied reasons, ended up forming an integral part of people's daily expectations and presence. Televiewers go to unexpected lengths to ensure that they do not miss out on the daily intricacies and realities of these families and characters, who after all these episodes, have resulted as an integral part of their lives... hence missing an episode, for some, becomes an issue and they manoeuvre their daily appointments ensuring that they are free to watch at transmission time.
Ħbieb u Għedewwa was conceived and plotted as a classical soap intended to be aired primarily early afternoon. It moves at a leisurely pace allowing televiewers to bond with the fictitious members of the respective families, whilst following their daily tribulations, successes, pains and joys, amongst other emotions and true to life friendship, sometimes into different emotions following misinterpretation, suspicion and gossip. Televiewers can hence find paralells in their own environment and sometimes see situations closer to home, unfurl in the lives of their favourite characters.
Authors, cast, crew and actors ensured that the pace of this production mimics that normal to the very great majority of televiewers, allowing everyone to look at these characters as their neighbours and extended family or friends or enemies, depending on situations, attitudes and actions. And just as we are all, to some extent, intrigued in following all that happens around us, then intrigue, love, suspense, passion, jealousy, friendship and hatred fuel the plot line and keep televiewers guessing as to what will happen next. This whilst creating moments of entertainment, education and possibly distraction from daily chores.
