Transport Malta looking into shore-to-ship electricity transfer methods in Grand Harbour – Ian Borg

Transport Malta is looking into identifying ways for docked ships to use shore-to-ship electricity generation, Transport Minister Ian Borg said in Parliament.

He was responding toa Parliamentady question posed by PN MP Karol Aquilina, who identified that nowadays ships have to use their own engine, which causes more air pollution in the Grand Harbour.

Minister Borg said that Transport Malta is in the initial stages of identifying the most appropriate way through which ships can use shore to ship electricity transfer in the Grand Harbour
