For people to trust you to run a country, first they need to trust you to run a party – Muscat

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat told The Malta Independent today that in order for the people to trust the PN to run a country, first they need to trust them to run a party.

Following a conference, Muscat was asked by this newsroom for his opinion of the situation within the PN, whether he has any concerns and if he has any advice for the PN.

“I don’t think that I should be the one to say what the Opposition needs to do. What is for sure is that for the people to trust you to run the country first they need to trust you to run a party. I have no kind of advice to give to the opposition and I do not think it would be wise for me to do so.”

The PN leadership has been in an embattled state recently, following the landslide loss during both the European Parliamentary and local council elections. PN Leader Adrian Delia has not called for a vote of confidence in himself.

Party Leader Adrian Delia has refused calls to convene a meeting of his Parliamentary Group but the MPs are seeing how they can hold a meeting, with or without their party leader, sources close to the PN recently said. At the same time, Delia is meeting with MPs individually in a bid to resolve the current differences that exist for the party to be able to move forward.
