Godfrey Farrugia, interim leader of the Partit Demokratiku, claimed on Facebook this morning that the video purportedly showing his partner and PD MP Marlene Farrugia celebrating while offensive chants against the Nationalist Party were being sung is “fake”.

On Tuesday, PN secretary general Clyde Puli and Marlene Farrugia were at each other’s throats after a video of celebrations filmed during the St Philip feast went viral. The video shows Farrugia lifted shoulder high as youngsters chant “F’gh… il-PN”.

Puli had taken offence, with Farrugia saying she never offended anyone.

This morning, Godfrey Farrugia wrote on Facebook that the video had been manipulated to put Marlene Farrugia in bad light. He posted another video which he says explains how things happened.
