The La Vittoria Band Club, Mellieha has maintained its annual appointment during the first week of September as it proudly presents two new concerts on the occasion of the feast of the Nativity of Our Lady.
These two concerts that will include innovative concepts and ideas are expected to woo the audience present.
La Vittoria Grand Concert - 3rd September:
The 3rd of September has indeed become an important fixture for La Vittoria Band Club through the high level of performances that have been presented by the La Vittoria Youth Band during the last fifteen years.
This year the first edition of 'The La Vittoria Grand Concert' will be launched, a concert that is expected to be of the highest level both from a musical and organizational perspective. The list of prestigious names whose works line up the concert includes Strauss, New Cuorey, Franz Listz, Zucchero amongst others.
Complimenting the Band will be 'Danza C', a group of professional dancers under the leadership of Ms. Christina Cauchi, well-known Maltese Baritone Louis Andrew Cassar, singer Daniel Cauchi of Big Band Brothers fame, young pianist John Cutajar, and 'Vuċijiet Vittorjani', the Band Club's children's choir under the helm of Julia Grima and Claudia Vella. Together with our musicians blended with a host of professional and established artists this is a guarantee for a most enjoyable evening to all present.
The La Vittoria Grand Concert under the direction of Musical Director Mro. Ryan Mallia is to be held on Tuesday 3rd September 2019, at the Mellieħa Parish Square from 8:30pm onwards. It will be led by compere Ms Pauline Agius.
La Vittoria Youth Live - 4th September
During the last years, the La Vittoria Band Club has been committed in investing in its School of Music to the extent that today the band is composed of no less than 30 young musicians. Having young blood in the band's veins, meant the need for new opportunities to be allocated for these young musicians to exhibit their talent and hard work as well as to motivate them to work in reaching their targets through such specific programmes.
La Vittoria Youth Live is an activity that includes a Live Band with the participation of various local singers where the top works of various talents such as Queen, Beatles, Frank Sinatra, The Tramps and Lady Gaga are expected to provide an overall performance that may be considered as uncommon to Maltese Bands.
Participants include Julia Grima, Mireille Borg, Thea Gauci, Cassandra Scerri together with the choir of the Band Club 'Vuċijiet Vittorjani' .
La Vittoria Youth Live will take place on Wednesday 4th September 2019 at the Parish Square of Mellieħa from 8:15pm onwards. The La Vittoria Youth Live will be under the direction of the Assistant Musical Directors Mro. Hertian Gauci and Mro. Andrea Cassar.
Entrance for both concerts is free of charge.
The production of these two events is of the La Vittoria Band Club under the leadership of its President Mr. Pawlino Mifsud, who this year will be acknowledged for his 10th year as President of the club.
These activities also intend to mark the 10th anniversary of the setting up of the choir 'Vuċijiet Vittorjani', another of President Mifsud's incentives together with the setting up of the La Vittoria School of Music.
