A large crowd gathered in front of Parliament on Monday evening as the third anti-corruption protest in the space of a week was held.

The protest was organised by civil society groups Occupy Justice and Repubblika.

The groups are calling for Prime Minister Joseph Muscat's resignation.

Demonstrators held placards and shouted “barra” (out) and “korrotti” (corrupt). Fake money featuring Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, Tourism Minister Konrad Mizzi and OPM Chief of Staff Keith Schembri was handed out.

At one point, the crowd booed when an unrecognized MP was seen on the Parliament building bridge. Booing was also heard as some MPs emerged from the building.

Last Wednesday, a similar protest went out of control at times, with MPs heckled as they left the building and Justice Minister Owen Bonnici becoming trapped in his car for a few minutes. Two police officers were injured in the scuffles.
