President George Vella gave the Central Bank of Malta staff a double treat as the annual orchestral concert recently organised by the bank was held under his auspices and he also visited the Bank's premises - in the space of a few days.

For the third year in a row, the Bank sponsored the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, with one of the benefits of the agreement being a concert by the musicians aimed at its own staff, as well as other guests. The concert was led by guest conductor Raoul Lay accompanied by visiting pianist Roger Muraro, with a programme including various international composers, as well works by Malta's own Charles Camilleri, whose widow and son were also invited.  The President's visit to the Bank premises was a great opportunity for all the staff to meet his Excellency.
