Fine art lovers all over the island are in for a treat with the special screening of Lucian Freud: self-portraits. For the first time in history the Royal Academy of Arts in London, in collaboration with the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, is bringing together this amazing exhibition of more than 50 paintings, prints and drawings in which this modern master of British art turned his unflinching gaze firmly on himself.  Spanning nearly seven decades, his portraits represent an engrossing study into the dynamic of ageing and the process of self-representation. Experience Lucian Freud on the 17th and 19th of January from the comfort of the Eden Cinemas.

Puccini's opera, La Bohème, centres around young love flourishing in 19th-century Paris. It's packed with beautiful scores of music, including lyrical arias, celebratory choruses and a heart-breaking final scene. Richard Jones's character-led production perfectly captures a mixture of comedy, romance and tragedy, with striking designs by Stewart Laing. You can watch this mesmerising co-production with Teatro Real, Madrid and Lyric Opera of Chicago on the 29th of January, and the 2nd of February.

And from one flourishing lover's tale, to another, we welcome a stunning production of , a classic Russian ballet that established The Royal Ballet both in its new home after World War II and as a world-class company. Fast-forward sixty years, the original staging was revived, returning Oliver Messel's wonderful designs and glittering costumes to the stage. Pyotr Il'yich Tchaikovsky's enchanting music and Marius Petipa's original choreography beautifully combine with sections created for The Royal Ballet by Frederick Ashton, Anthony Dowell and Christopher Wheeldon. Watch Aurora awaken from eternal slumber by true love's kiss on the big screen this November. 16th and 19th of January from the comfort of the Eden Cinemas.

With a popcorn in hand, and classical works of art unfolding before you live on the big screen, Eden Cinemas is really and truly the perfect place to watch some of the world's most beloved masterpieces in full HD.
