Students and staff at the University of Malta have come together this past festive season and helped bring out the true spirit of Christmas with holiday cheer and collected the sum of €10,000 during the annually held Christmas on Campus initiative.

The sum collected was equally divided between L-Istrina and Dar tal-Providenza.

Inaugurated on Monday, 9 December, 2019, Christmas on Campus consisted of a number of activities aimed at the entire UM community. These were collectively organised by the UM Administration, the UM Chaplaincy, and KSU (Kunsill Studenti Universitarji).

Park & Donate, which was held on Tuesday, 17 December, 2019, asked students and staff to donate €1 if they were parking on campus on that day. A number of cultural tours to historical sites across Malta, an olive picking initiative, a wine tasting event, a poinsettia and Christmas sweets sale, and live music, among other happenings at Quadrangle and other UM premises also helped raise the considerable sum.

The Organising Committee is grateful for everyone's generosity to this veritable cause. Campus-wide initiatives such as this one are proof that the University of Malta is an entity that thrives on collaborative effort.
