The Virtu Ferries vessel is seen here dressed overall to commemorate the 30^th anniversary of Pope John Paul II's round trip between Valletta, St Paul's Islands and Gozo, on another Virtu vessel, SES San Frangisk, in 1990. This historic voyage was the highlight of HH The Pope's visit to Malta between the 25 and 27^th May. Pope John Paul II was canonised on 27^th April 1914; the vessel, the largest high-speed RoPax operating in the Mediterranean, is named after him.
