Mask Challenge competition for children

Tuesday, 7 July 2020, 09:20 Last update: about 5 years ago

Coronavirus has affected us all dramatically but some more than others. The difficulties faced by some families are quite heartbreaking. Even though the situation appears to be easing, it is important to raise children's awareness of the fact that there are other children in Malta who continue to suffer the consequences of the pandemic.

Lifetime Malta, who specialises in providing creative educational opportunities for children, is running a face Mask Challenge throughout this month. The idea is very simple. Each child is being asked to create the most original mask they can, which will then be entered into a competition to win attractive prizes. Finally the masks will be distributed via the Millennium Chapel to under-privileged children in Malta.

The project team wants to thank the generous sponsors for providing the following prizes: A day sailing on the 48ft yacht Allegra by Malta Sailing Experiences, Quest Room experiences by Scavanger Malta, some super cool electronic gadgets and other interesting gifts, financed by anonymous donors.

While every child likes to win a prize, Natalia Lupu who is coordinating this event says: "One of the main reasons for the project is to encourage social responsibility in children by enabling them to give something special, and personal, to other children who may be less advantaged."
