Covid-19: New record as 362 cases registered, while active cases jump to 3,162

A new record 362 cases of Covid-19 was registered today, as the number of new cases also climbed to a new high of 3,162, health authorities said.

The previous record was 336, which was recorded only last Tuesday while the number of active cases had reached 3,000 fof the first time yesterday.

The number of cases recorded in Malta is now 23,558, of which 20,135 have recovered, including 230 today.

Four other patients have died in the last 24 hours, for a total of 325. They are two women aged 68 and 76, and two men aged 75 and 64. All died at Mater Dei Hospital.

The number of swab tests carried out was 4,146, for a total of 713,482 tests.

Until yesterday, the number of vaccinations administered was 86,854, of which 30,329 were second doses.
