Following a successful first public meeting with the participation of over 100 writers, journalists, artists, and activists, the core group of promoters for aspiring PEN Malta is once again calling individuals interested in becoming founding members of the proposed national Centre to join a second public meeting being held online on Zoom on Saturday 27 March 2021 from 10:00 (CET) onwards.
The meeting will build on the introduction to the project imparted at the first formal exchange with the public, with a discussion on the key documentation distributed to participants at the first public meeting. The core group will be presenting the feedback received from writers, outlining amendments made to the draft constitution and strategic plan in response to comments submitted, reiterating the administrative procedure for the establishment of the PEN Centre in Malta, and finally, inviting participants for a binding vote on the first executive committee.
Anyone interested in becoming a founding member of PEN Malta can email [email protected] to register for the meeting and obtain the relevant materials to be able to participate in the process, in view of the looming application deadline for the Centre. The final details regarding this crucial stage of the setting up of the organisation will be shared during the event, and there will also be the opportunity to ask questions directly to the panel.
