154 Covid-19 cases reported as six recover

154 new Covid-19 cases were reported by health authorities on Tuesday, as Malta’s latest pandemic spike persists.

Six people have recovered, while no new deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours, leaving Malta’s active cases at 782.

The number of new cases is slightly less than the 179 report on Monday – which was the highest since March.

3,353 swab tests were carried out on Monday, taking the total so far up to 1,021,801.

Meanwhile, 709,131 doses of the vaccine have been administered, with 373,349 of those being first doses.

351,395 people are now fully vaccinated, as the country from Monday will allow people to walk-in for vaccination without an appointment.

Malta has had 31,394 cases so far. 30,192 of those have recovered, while 420 have died.
