‘Hajku ta’ hi u hu’. Author: Joseph W. Psaila. Published: March 2022. Pages: 168pp

This is the eighth publication by the author, following Graffiti f'Gerduf (1993), Xewqat (2003), Tabilhaqqiet Varji u Taparsijiet Veri (2006) and Fil-Ahh u l-Bahh (2013), two long poems Il-Purgatorju 360° (2014) and Pranzu Statali (2018), both reviewed on these pages, and Kannibali Demokratici u Drammi Ohra (2021).

He was an Education officer in the Education Division, secretary of the National Curriculum Council and president of the Gozo Sports Board. For 10 years he was also the editor of Il-Hajja f'Ghawdex.

The present book contains a number of short poems on the haiku style grouped into five groups, all trying to define what love is from the natural attractiveness to "il-horma" (the natural attraction between the sexes).

The book also includes a number of pen drawings by George Scicluna.

Here are two examples from Il-Horma section:
