Thursday, 11 August 2022, 17:19 Last update: about 3 years ago

The Festival and events bar operator Barcode has announced that the company will be refunding back the unredeemed digital tokens of over €1 from a number of festivals.

These festival include Food Festival Gozo (Xewkija), Farsons Beer Festival, Isle of MTV, Food Festival (Valletta) and Wine Festival.

The company said in a press release that Barcode operated within the full remits of the law, installed clear signage of their terms of service, and even uploaded instruction videos to their website for maximum consumer clarity.

“However, we hear all those who might be in some way dissatisfied with how events turned out and we consider this a learning curve for us too,” Barcode said.

It added that “our intention is to go cashless as soon as possible whilst also keeping festival-goers satisfied until we reach the desired outcomes.”

“Whilst a good percentage of our customers wiped out their digital tokens completely, others, for various reasons, may not have redeemed them,” Barcode said.

Here one can find the link to access the refund portal: https://tixify.com/barcodecashless.

This method is the only means to claim a refund for unused digital tokens, and the funds portal will be open for one week starting from Saturday 13 August at 00:00hrs until Friday 19 August 23:00hrs.

Refunds, less any applicable bank charges, will be sent via bank transfer by Thursday 1 September 2022. An EU bank account with a valid IBAN is necessary.
