A man has died after being hit by a car in Marsa.

Police told The Malta Independent that an accident had occurred at around 2pm in Triq Dicembru 13 close to a bus stop.

Details about the victim’s identity are unknown, and he had not been identified by the time police sent out a press release about the accident.

The man passed away at the site of the accident and was certified as dead by a medical team.

A white Toyota Vitz was involved in the accident, with pictures shared by other media houses showing the car with significant damage. 

It was being driven by a 24-year-old man who lives in Qormi, the police said in a statement.

Duty magistrate Lara Lanfranco is leading an inquiry, while police investigations are ongoing.
