A 25-year-old man is in danger of dying after he suffered an electric shock while carrying out maintenance works.

Police said that they were advised of a need for their assistance at 1:30pm in a residence at Triq il-Gdida in Paola on Sunday.

Preliminary investigations showed that a 25-year-old man who lives in Birzebbuga was electrocuted while carrying out maintenance works at the residence.

The man was given assistance by a medical team and taken to Mater Dei Hospital where he was certified as suffering from serious injuries.

Duty magistrate Ian Farrugia is leading an inquiry while police investigations are ongoing.
