17 inspectors and 64 police sergeants have been appointed in a ceremony at the Police headquarters in Floriana.
4 of the new inspectors also took their oath as new members to the police force. After this appointment, the inspectors will attend a two year course at the university of Malta.
Of the 64 sergeants, 49 are men and 15 are women.
The ceremony was presided over by Home Affairs Minister Byron Camilleri and Police Commissioner Angelo Gafa.
Camilleri said that through the change taking place within the police force, it will be more effective with the public. He said that this shows through the increased public trust in the police force.
