Manuel Schembri was born in Cospicua, Malta in 1964.  He is married with a son and two daughters.     Manuel is widely travelled, and has worked in many different fields over the years.  He managed his own restaurant in Malta, after which he settled in Gozo 20 years ago.   He has since been working in property renovations and maintenance.

Manuel's passion has always been writing.  His output is vast, and he is a passionate romantic, which is clearly evident in his love of prose and poetry.  In addition to this, Manuel has also written song lyrics and scripts for plays, always using his vivid imagination.  He has, by and large, kept these works to himself.  A great storyteller, he is currently immersed in writing his first book, a beautiful love story he hopes to have published by the end of this year, together with a collection of his poems.

Schembri's work has been read, reviewed and revered by artist and Random House author Miriam Sorrell,  a poet herself.  Manuel visited Miriam 18 months ago, and they have since shared their artistic works. Miriam insisted that he put his work forward to enable it to be shared by others that appreciate Maltese culture and the artistic use of the Maltese language, which he so eloquently draws upon in his writing.  A true wordsmith, he is one of a kind, and an 'old school' writer with some quaint descriptions that are so often lost or overlooked today.  His work will find a place in the home of anybody looking for quality writing, from profound romanticism to humour, adventure and more.  All his work allows space for the imagination to freely roam.
