The Storm Petrel Foundation which is found at 79, Triq San Anton, Attard, (opposite Villa Bologna) has recently organised its fourth exhibition, Unseen and Unheard - Stories of Women Under Fire. In the introduction to the exhibition catalogue, Bernie Mizzi, chairperson of the Foundation,(and the one who started it all) writes: "Step into the spaces at number 79, and be captivated by the images, voices and vibes of the women who will appear. There is an uncanny yet heart-warming feeling when we unearth sounds, images and spaces of the heart - from the past. The written word from the pens of women opening up about the discomforts and distresses of war were what first compelled us to house these treasures - most - hidden away for many years. The women were not silent nor invisible although history recorded very little."

The artifacts in the exhibition are from 17 collectors or collaborators.

"They let us discover female lives that strove and sacrificed during those difficult WW2 years," Mrs Mizzi continues... The exhibition not only differs from our previous ones because women alone take centre-stage but also because it has brought together the largest number of collectors, collaborators and creatives that the Storm Petrel Foundation has ever seen under its roof. Ably curated by Justine Balzan Demajo, this exhibition has spread to other activities that will see us opening our doors to debates, discussions, and contemporary events that require presence, engagement and reflexive thought. It necessitates on-the-spot grounding of where you stand."

This is not an exhibition to be missed. It closes on 14 April 2023.
