Cuatro – An evening of classical music and Flamenco dance

Sunday, 2 April 2023, 08:30 Last update: about 4 years ago

Alegria Flamenco Malta's latest production is a Flamenco dance performance inspired by Antonio Vivaldi's timeless masterpiece, The Four Seasons.

Produced and directed by Ingrid Sciberras, Cuatro, just like the classical version of Vivaldi, represents the changing seasons and the moods that come with them. We have taken this concept and incorporated the vibrant and exciting rhythms of Flamenco dance, the colours of the costumes, projections and lights will also add to the mood. Choreographies for the performance is all original and created by Estelle Bonello Sant, Ingrid Sciberras and Emma Marie Attard.  Production is being sponsored by KPMG, APS Bank, Joseph Cachia & Son and JB Stores.

Keeping up with the tradition of previous Academy performances, the evening will include live music and throughout the performance there will be interpretations from Vivaldi's The Four Seasons by special guest artists string quartet, The ProMuzika Ensemble, directed by Sarah Spiteri.

Prior to each performance, patrons will enjoy a Tio Pepe welcome drink, a sherry directly from Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, kindly sponsored by M. Demajo Wines & Spirits.

Performances are being held at Theatre Next Door, Triq il-Kappella ta' Santa Marija, Maghtab on Saturday, 15 April at 8pm and Sunday, 16 April at 7.30pm. Venue is provided with ample parking spaces.
