Last Sunday, Gozitan tenor Michel Angelo Muscat launched his first album Tama. Composed by John Galea, with lyrics by Diane Cutajar, this song cycle captures Michel Angelo's experiences and emotions from when he was adopted at a young age to where he has come today in his developing career as tenor.

During the launch, which was held in the foyer of Teatru Astra in Victoria, Gozo,the composer and lyricist gave the audience background information on how they approached the project, what inspired them, and how they succeeded in setting Michel Angelo's emotions to words and music. The tenor then sang Għasfur Ċkejken, and Il-Waqt accompanied by pianist Elaine Mercieca. During the reception which was held afterwards, the audience could listen to the other songs in the CD, including Lil Xulxin featuring Corazon Mizzi.

In the end Michel Angelo thanked his friends and family who were present amongst the numerous audience, in particular his adoptive parents for their unwavering love which helped him overcome the difficult circumstances he was born into. In this regard, all proceeds from the
sale of the CD album Tama will go to the Children's Fund, which takes care of children under care order. This event was partly sponsored by Arts Council Malta, under the Project Support Scheme.
