A 48-year-old man died from a fall in Fgura, the police said.

At 1.45pm, the police were informed that their assistance was needed on Triq il-Karmelitani. Preliminary investigations found that the man fell from a three storey height when he tried to climb down onto the balcony of his property from the roof as he had found himself locked out.

A medical team was called but the man was unfortunately certified as dead on site. Magistrate Claire Stafrace Zammit launched an inquiry and police investigations are ongoing.

The man was later identified as Yousef Borda, who was an AFM member.
