Smooth Radio is turning up the broadcast quality of its signal across Malta and Gozo for a richer, higher definition audio experience.
Smooth is now updated to Super 4K stereo with the launch of the station's new DAB+ multiplex.
Super 4K provides superior sound quality, giving the best possible experience for those listening on DAB+ digital radio.
To listen to Smooth Radio in 4K, listeners should retune their digital radio sets, and look for Smooth 4K.
The new multiplex - the airwaves needed to broadcast digital radio stations - will allow around six new themed Smooth stations to broadcast to listeners in the Maltese Isands.
"Once again, Smooth is leading the way and setting new standards in broadcasting in Malta. Now is a really exciting time as DAB+ digital radio gathers pace," said Simon Lumsden, managing editor of Smooth.
He added: "Thanks to the launch of the Smooth multiplex we will be launching a number of new digital only stations in due course, all of which are brand extensions, further expanding our reach nationally on digital radio."
Smooth's sister station The Breeze has also upgraded to Super 4K stereo from today.
Sergio D'Amico, managing director of Digi B Networks, which operates digital radio broadcasting in Malta, said: 'Smooth is currently the only radio group to launch its own DAB multiplex, with services in 4k high resolution audio.'
Smooth Radio plays Malta's Relaxing Favourites and is available across the Maltese Islands on DAB+ digital radio and at smooth.com.mt.
