A man has suffered life threatening injuries after falling two storeys off some scaffolding while working at a residence on Friday morning.

Police said that the accident happened at around 10am in a residence in Triq Claire E. Engel in St Julian’s.

Preliminary investigations showed that the 41-year-old man who lives in Valletta was working in a shaft and fell around two storeys.

A medical team was called on site and the man was taken to Mater Dei Hospital where he was certified as suffering from serious injuries.

Duty magistrate Marseanne Farrugia is leading an inquiry, while investigations by the police and the Occupational Health and Safety Authority are also ongoing.
