Central Bank of Malta governor participates in the inauguration of the House of Euro in Brussels

The Central Bank of Malta Governor, Professor Edward Scicluna, was in Brussels together with the European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde and six other Central Bank Governors from the Eurosystem for the inauguration of the House of Euro which took place Thursday 9 November 2023.

The Central Bank of Malta will henceforth have a permanent resident representative in the House of Euro. The Bank official will maintain relations with EU institutions, other National Central Banks and Federal States representations to the EU. He or she would report regularly to the Governor and other relevant business areas of the Bank.

Present for the ceremony were various ambassadors, heads of EU institutions, Commissioners, and Members of the European Parliament. The Governor was accompanied by CBM officials, Mr Clive Bartolo, Principal Officer Monetary Policy and Eurosystem Relations and Mr Andrea Tosato, Senior Policy Advisor.
