Bethlehem in Ghajnsielem, a living crib with over 100 actors across a 20,000 square metre area, was launched for its 14th edition by the Minister for Gozo, Clint Camilleri.

The Ministry for Gozo said that this event has become an integral part of the Gozitan Christmas culture calendar, offering a unique experience as a standout attraction. It said that as in previous years, Bethlehem in Ghajnsielem will be offering a mix of local traditions and crafts along with other activities generally associated with the traditional Maltese crib.

Speaking about the event, Camilleri said that he is pleased to be able to announce the 14th edition, as it has "continued to increase in popularity over the years". He continued that the attraction draws many people to Gozo during Christmas time and that the ministry is continuing to provide its financial support as a means of strengthening these sorts of activities which "also keep traditions and culture alive" in the country.

The minister thanked the Local Council of Ghajnsielem and the volunteers who are working to make the activity possible. He also encouraged everyone present in Gozo during the time of the activity to visit and enjoy the unique experience.

Bethlehem in Ghajnsielem opened on Saturday 16th December. You can find more information by visiting the website https://eventsingozo.com/event/bethlehem-fghajnsielem/2023-12-16/.
