The Public Broadcasting Services (PBS) has been fined by the Broadcasting Authority after being found guilty of discriminating against the Nationalist Party.
The PN said in a statement that the fine, €930, should not be paid for from taxpayers’ money. “People should not pay for the bad decisions made by the Chairman, Mark Sammut, and the Editor, Charles Dalli,” the PN said.
The PN complained about the coverage given by the national broadcasting station of the speech given in Parliament by Opposition Leader Bernard Grech on the climate change authority.
The PN labelled this fine as “another confirmation of the systematic campaign by PBS to censor every voice that criticizes the Government, while being a continuous propaganda machine for Robert Abela.”
The Nationalist Party concluded by pledging to “continue to take every necessary step until PBS stops being Super One 2 and becomes a true Public Broadcaster.”
Last month the Public Broadcasting Service was found to have misrepresented Bernard Grech’s statements regarding climate change by the Speaker of the House Anġlu Farrugia.
