Former Nationalist Party parliamentary secretary Edwin Vassallo will be contesting the MEP elections in June.

He will not be on the PN ticket, but on behalf of Moviment Solidarjeta

Vassallo said on Facebook he “took this decision, because I feel, and believe, that our values for life, the family, and our freedom, have never been as threatened as they are today. Every decision that is taken nowadays, is taken based on profits only, and as a result we may have a strong economy, but no one is considering the way our values for life, the family and freedom are being steamrolled over.”

Vassallo, a former Mosta mayor, is a conservative who was against the introduction of divorce and is against abortion.
