ADPD Leader Sandra Gauci, who was elected as a councillor in the St Paul’s Bay local council on Wednesday, said that she will be the voice of the residents in the locality.

Gauci also contested the MEP elections this week, but she was not elected.

Cleanliness in the locality is a major concern and is the first priority on her list, Gauci told the media at the Naxxar counting hall. She promised to tackle this issue immediately, emphasising that St Paul’s Bay, being a touristic village, should not be neglected when it comes to cleanliness.

To address this problem, Gauci proposed more recycling campaigns, with information provided in different languages if necessary. Additionally, more campaigns should be conducted to ensure everyone feels part of the St Paul’s Bay community, as she believes that the more people feel included, the more they will care.

Gauci, who obtained 557 first count votes, also pledged to keep everyone informed about the latest developments within the local council, whether it is a road closure or a new initiative.

Commenting on the 28% voter turnout for the locality, Gauci remarked that this is a symptom of a trend for change.

She thanked everyone who showed their trust in her with their votes.
