Valletta Contemporary, in collaboration with the Norbert Francis Attard Foundation, announced its latest exhibition "Cumulus". This exhibition brings together the diverse works of 29 internationally renowned artists, including Gilbert and George, Ai Weiwei, and Tracey Emin, among others. This eclectic collection, amassed by contemporary art collector Norbert Francis Attard, reflects his discerning eye and evolving tastes over decades.

The exhibition is firmly grounded in concepts surrounding the notion of collecting. History has preserved the collections of several prominent collectors, their discerning eye, measured taste and connoisseurship assembles the finest pieces under a single roof. This collection is preserved in Foundation's archives in Gozo, and many of the works on show are being exhibited for the first time on Maltese islands.

Norbert Francis Attard, the exhibition curator and collector, explains "my goal with the Gallery and the Foundation has always been to make the contemporary arts more accessible. Through the collection, I hope to offer insight into the world of the international art scene at our doorstep."

"This exhibition is a reflection of my ever-evolving tastes," adds Attard. "Not connected thematically and eclectic by its very nature, it represents a collection which has grown organically, slowly over decades. The exhibition illustrates my varying interests, thus capturing moments in time."

Cumulus is an invitation to the public to engage with a significant collection of contemporary art, sparking debate and intrigue. It offers a glimpse into a half-century of artistic accumulation, providing insight into the Norbert Francis Attard Foundation's broader collections.

The exhibition opened last Friday and runs till 14 August. Then 4 September - 23rd November 2024. Valletta Contemporary is open from Wednesday to Saturday, 2pm to 7pm (closed on public holidays). Entrance is free. For more information visit www.vallettacontemporary.com
