The Labour Party has said that it fully supports and associated with the Gouder family’s request for any information that can help regarding Gouder’s death to be given to the police and the inquiring magistrate.
Karl Gouder a former PN MP, St Julian’s mayor and long-time party insider, died on Tuesday. He was 45 years old. His death is not being treated as suspicious, but a magisterial inquiry is ongoing – as is standard practice in the case of a death.
Gouder’s sister-in-law Maxine Gouder asked anybody with information to reach out to Karl’s brother Nicky Gouder, while the PN has also called on authorities to uncover what led to the former MP’s traffic death.
The PL in a statement reiterated its solidarity with Gouder’s family and said that it wants the “facts, what is right, and the full truth to come out.”
“Karl Gouder was a politician respected by everyone, dedicated to the service that he put himself in for and towards Maltese society. He worked without ever hurting anyone,” the PL said.
“This is a moment where maturity must prevail as much as national unity,” the party concluded as it again paid tribute to Gouder’s memory.
