A group of 10 volunteers have just landed in Tanzania, Africa, where they will be working with communities in need while having a missionary experience. The group, which forms part of Youths for Missio, a section within Missio Malta, will spend three weeks in the East African country.

While addressing the youths at Malta International Airport, Robert Farrugia, head of Communications and Fundraising at Missio, praised the initiative of these young people, as they showed commitment to helping those in need without expecting anything in return, in the spirit of Missio.

"Through their missionary journey, these youths will make a difference in the lives of many people in needy communities. In the past months, this group has been involved in organising various activities to raise funds for several projects they will be working on during their experience."

The group of youths, who are all University students, acquired funds from the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector. One group will be working at an orphanage in Canaan, while another will assist at a hospital in the same area, which Missio is raising funds to complete.
