The second national conference which focuses on youth at band clubs has been held.

Parliamentary Secretary for Youth, Research, and Innovation Keith Azzopardi Tanti, together with Manager of Youth Empowerment within Agenzija Zghazagh Maria Borg and President of the Band Clubs Association Noel Camilleri, participated in the Second National Conference for Youth at the Band Clubs.

This conference emphasizes the crucial role of youth in safeguarding and enhancing Maltese cultural traditions through their commitment to the band clubs.

Azzopardi Tanti highlighted the importance of youth involvement in this field, saying that the value of the commitment shown through youth in the band clubs is clear.

"They are not only participating in music, but they are also contributing to the future of our country as leaders, innovators, and active citizens," Azzopardi Tanti said.

He reiterated that government will continue to support initiatives that give youth opportunities to expand their horizons both locally and internationally, especially through European programs such as Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps.

Borg thanked everyone who participated and emphasized the essential role of youth in band communities, adding that through their active involvement, young people are building the future, not only of the bands but also of their communities.

"Agenzija Zghazagh will continue to support initiatives that provide these young people with the necessary tools to continue shaping their character and further developing fully," she said.

Camilleri praised the commitment of the youth, stating the band clubs are much more than just a place where music is played.

"They are cultural centres that provide a sense of belonging and continuity to many young people. The involvement of our youth in them is fundamental to continuing to build bridges between generations and ensuring the future of our heritage," he said.

This conference, which saw numerous participants, aims to continue encouraging youth to take an active role in the cultural and civic life of the country, thereby developing vital skills for leadership and social participation.

Azzopardi Tanti wished success to all those involved and expressed recognition for their dedication to making this initiative a success.
