A parliamentary sitting scheduled for Wednesday morning was postponed to Thursday at 2pm after broadcasting equipment was damaged in a fire that occurred on Tuesday.

The parliament building in Valletta was evacuated on Tuesday after fore broke out in the server room. The fire was put out by members of the Civil Protection Department but not before damage was caused to the equipment.

Speaker Anglu Farrugia in a brief statement said that an investigation is ongoing but that technical problems mean that the sitting could not be broadcast or recorded.

The two sides of the House agreed that today's sitting is postponed to Thursday at 2pm.
