Join us for a captivating lunchtime concert at the historic Our Lady of Victory Church in Valletta, featuring the talented flutist Odile Micallef and esteemed pianist Ramona Zammit Formosa. This enchanting performance organised by Barocco Foundation, in collaboration with Din l-Art Ħelwa, promises a delightful musical escape in the heart of the day.
The programme promises a rich blend of cinematic and classical favourites, thoughtfully arranged to highlight the expressive power of flute and piano. Audiences will be treated to beloved themes from iconic films, including What a Wonderful World from Good Morning, Vietnam, Deliver Us and When You Believe from The Prince of Egypt, and the poignant Love Theme from Cinema Paradiso.
The duo will also perform the evocative Ladies in Lavender, the haunting Schindler's List Theme, and the powerful ballad Skyfall, along with the unmistakable James Bond Theme from the 007 franchise. Fans of adventure and drama will enjoy He's a Pirate from Pirates of the Caribbean, and the stirring score from The Godfather.
Adding a vibrant twist, the programme includes Libertango, famously featured in The Tango Lesson, and concludes with the moving piece Now We Are Free from Gladiator.
Echoes of the Silver Screen will be held at Our Lady of Victory church, Valletta on Tuesday, 13 May at 12.30pm.
Entrance to the concert is at a suggested donation of €10.
