Following another meeting held between the Ministry for Inclusion and Voluntary Organisations and the Malta Autism Centre, an agreement has been reached regarding outstanding issues related to the Public Social Partnership (PSP) that the Government has with the same voluntary organisation, the government said.

The government expressed its satisfaction that this situation is being resolved after the Malta Autism Centre submitted three important documents required for any operation involving minors, a statement issued by the Department of Information said.

As a gesture of goodwill, and to ensure that children with disabilities continue to receive subsidised services - as has been the case over the past 14 years - the Government has agreed that, with immediate effect, the process will begin to issue back payments covering the period between January 2025 and June 2025.

The operator is being granted an extension until the end of this year to submit the remaining administrative documentation, which will allow the release of a second payment covering the second half of the year.

Discussions will continue with the aim of reaching a new Public Social Partnership agreement for a further three-year period, the government said.
