No one was hurt after a car caught fire in St. Anne's Street, Floriana on Thursday afternoon.
This newsroom is informed by the police that a car caught fire while it was being driven, due to damages within the car itself. While no injuries were reported, the number of people inside the car when this occurred is unknown.
By 4:30pm, the police informed The Malta Independent that the fire had been extinguished and that the situation was put under control by local firefighters. By this time, officers at the scene were waiting for a tow truck to take the burnt vehicle away.
The police added that traffic is moving along the Floriana main road as per usual, as the road was not closed because of this incident.
