A man was arrested as the police seized a "considerable amount" of sachets containing cocaine and heroin, the police said Friday.

The man, aged 44 of Valletta, was arrested after days of observation by police officers.

As soon as the man was stopped by the police, he was seen throwing a bag out the window of the car he was driving.

A search yielded 210 sachets of cocaine and 69 of heroin, with a street value of €14,000, together with cash, the police said.

A magisterial inquiry was launched.
